Central Avenue Improvements
Public Meeting
The Village of Wilmette cordially invites you to attend the second public meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to the Central Avenue corridor between Green Bay Road and Sheridan Road. The general scope of work includes road reconstruction, repair or replacement of utilities, replacement of the traffic signal at Central and Wilmette Avenues, rehabilitation of sidewalks and driveways, and a “complete streets” consideration of all modes of transportation. The project is primarily financed with federal funding and final design elements are contingent on state and federal approval.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first Central Avenue public meeting and responded to the on-line survey. We received over one hundred responses. The next step in the process is for our consultant, TranSystems, to present several design options for review and discussion. The next Central Avenue presentation will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Municipal Services Committee of the Village Board. The meeting details are as follows:
Thursday, April 6, 2017
7:00 PM
Wilmette Village Hall – Council Room
1200 Wilmette Avenue
Your continued participation is important to us, so all stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting, participate in the discussion and offer ideas. If you are unable to attend, please visit the Village’s website at www.wilmette.com to view the full videotaped presentation. Comments can be e-mailed to central@wilmette.com, mailed, or hand-delivered to the Village by Thursday, April 27th at 4:30 p.m.
