New Protected Bike Lanes in Evanston

Take a look at the shiny new bike lanes, protected with a concrete barrier, on Chicago Avenue at Sheridan Road in Evanston.  There are even special bike traffic signals, as pictured in this Evanston Now story.  Let’s hope Wilmette follows Evanston’s valiant biking accommodations and embraces bicycling in its future transportation projects.

The lanes run from Sheridan and Chicago Avenue south to the Church and Davis Street bike lanes.  Read more information about the plans here.
